一級慾望、二級慾望

哈里·法蘭克福Harry Frankfurt在1971年發表的“意志自由和人的概念”（Freedom of the Will and the Concept of A Person）一文中曾經對“一級慾望”和“二級慾望”（first-and second-order desires〉进行了区分。当我们形成一种欲望，它的对象就是我具有一定的（一级）欲望时，这种欲望就是二级欲望。弗兰克福特认为，形成二级欲望的能力是人类的根本特征，正是这种特征把人或人类自为与其他的自为者区分了开来。这就是说，人类的独特性就在于能够对欲望进行评价，把某些欲望视作可欲的而把其他的视作不可欲的。


二階慾望是對自己慾望(一階慾望)的慾望。
